The Association shall consist of individual persons who fulfill the membership requirements and are current in their membership dues. All members must comply with all relevant state and professional licensing and certification requirements.

In joining the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM), you have the opportunity to join the Western Region GCM Chapter. The Western Regional Chapter is the largest chapter of NAPGCM covering 13 states that range from mostly rural to those with highly dense cities. The Western Chapter was founded in 1988 by 8 pioneers in the field; it now has over 300 members.

There are many good reasons to join the Western Region GCM Chapter:

Western Chapter hosts a high level conference each year with top-notch speakers. It always takes place in one of our Chapter states so requires less travel to attend.
Western Chapter offers a Website that identifies our members both for public and collegial purposes and highlights them when they are in the news, getting certified, and the like. The Website offers regional news relevant to our work in geriatric care management.
Western Chapter caters to the needs of it Western members and provides opportunities for our members to get to know each other and work on a smaller and more local scale. These includes local units in many of our communities and telephone peer consultation sessions, both of which offer various topics, such as how to start a geriatric care management business, how to handle complicated clients, new referral sources and other issues related to the field of aging.
Western Chapter allows for professional growth and leadership and endless opportunities to volunteer to further the organization and your own business.
The $50 / year fee is nominal for the value.

CERTIFICATION

NAPGCM requires certification for full membership starting January 1, 2010. The following link explains that requirement and offers information about how to become certified.
